Leidos is seeking an e-Discovery Specialist to support the FAA. This position combines the duties and knowledge of an IT professional with the responsibilities and knowledge of a legal administrative support staff member. The e-Discovery professional will be responsible for organizing, assessing, managing, and maintaining electronic documents during the discovery process of an agency investigation or legal proceeding.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and apply the necessary methods and actions to obtain applicable electronically stored information (ESI) from various data sources using data archive and storage platforms.
  • Collect, process, and cull data in accordance with the EDRM framework and standards, ensuring that acceptable standards of quality are maintained.
  • Create and review eDiscovery reports in accordance with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
  • Train legal staff, FOIA officials, management, and others to use FAA’s eDiscovery review platforms. Training will provide familiarity with all aspects of the FAA eDiscovery platforms to include trouble shooting techniques.
  • Develop and document processes, procedures, and techniques for the FAA eDiscovery Program using best practices and industry standards.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities of computer technologies and theories to include an understanding of computer network architecture to identify data sources by owner, as well as collection techniques. Maintain familiarity with storage and archive techniques.
  • Stay abreast of developments and best practices in eDiscovery disciplines.
  • Prepare written reports detailing the results of document analysis ensuring accuracy and adequacy.
  • Ensure accuracy and adequacy of eDiscovery requests; ensure all practices are consistent and defensible and monitor quality standards at each stage in the EDRM.
  • Effectively communicate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to include legal staff, FOIA Officials, and management, conveying a clear and familiar understanding of legal and administrative requirements
  • Maintain the chain of custody throughout the entire eDiscovery lifecycle to include case planning, evidence intake, ESI collection, processing, analysis, and final delivery or disposition.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires BS and 4 years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 2 to 6 years of prior relevant experience or combination of education, experience and industry certifications.
  • Relevant experience should include 2 years of administering technology software systems of any size.
  • Experience with how corporate or enterprise technology systems work, such as email exchanges, email archives, cloud storage, file directories, etc.
  • Perform system administrator duties for platforms with multiple users having various roles, to include (but not limited to) creating new users, editing/auditing user roles, assign group permissions, configure, and maintain systems.
  • Experience with Nuix eDiscovery tools is highly preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to train small groups on how to use a customer facing tool.
  • Proficient in documenting processes and policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 a plus.
  • Has attention to detail and can complete assigned tasks independently, quality checking work at each step.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to obtain an interim Public Trust security clearance prior to your start date with Leidos.  Continued employment is conditional upon the ability to obtain and maintain a final Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have broad knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and other sources of data.
  • Have proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines.
  • Work as part of a team be able to manage complex relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Be well organized, a strong communicator, detail oriented, demonstrate good judgment, be confident working independently.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
