The National Solutions Group at Leidos currently has multiple anticipated openings for System Administrator to support a client's requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Aurora, Colorado area. The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance and is contingent upon program award. The System Administrator maintains the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems running Windows Server OS but includes also includes Linux servers on a global network management system. The System Administrator will work in a highly collaborative environment with teammates, key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the IC community. Roles and Responsibilities: Interacts with customers to handle service inquiries and problems.Monitors the performance and status of mission systems. Responds to initial user requests and incident reporting. Performs documented troubleshooting procedures to restore systems to optimal performance.Works in a rapid paced environment and must be able to work independently.Works independently to maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.Sets up administrator and service accounts, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.Application of security settings and other commercial best practices.Examines customer problems and implementing appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair, a return or service the product in the field.
Basic Qualifications:To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 2 years of overall related experience. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree. TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. Proven computer hardware, software and system troubleshooting skillsSystem administration skillsAbility to recognize problems or errors, provide innovative solutions to complex problems, and react appropriately- Remote Desktop Services (Login and Security)- Using Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)- Use of Windows Task Scheduler- Managing Active Directory- System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration.- System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools.- Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.- Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining VMWare environments.- Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+.Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential considerationExperience with a ticketing system such as Nets or Service Now.ITIL v3 Foundation certifiedLinux OS experience.Experience working with virtual environments Ability to interact with all levels of customers and mission partnersAbility to be flexible to adapt to changing situationsPossession of excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to interact with system users and customersAbility to demonstrate resourcefulness
