Job Description:
Leidos is seeking an eager and customer service-driven Information Specialist to join our team in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and respond to justice-related information requests and grant application questions from the criminal justice, victim services, and public safety communities in a call center environment on behalf of the US Department of Justice.

Responsibilities include:

Answering first tier questions from the criminal justice, juvenile justice, and victim services field regarding a variety of justice-focused topics in a call center environment.
Ensuring excellent customer care to guarantee questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide assistance to prospective grant applicants regarding eligibility, programmatic, and financial requirements of DOJ grant opportunities.
Appropriately documenting customer interactions in DOJ databases.
Maintaining a strong working knowledge of justice issues, news, research, technical assistance resources, and grant application requirements.
Informing customers of helpful resources and informational mailing lists from the government and professional organizations.
Providing empathetic support and coordinating helpful guidance and referrals to assist victims of crime.
Maintain content in online knowledgebases and websites.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
Strong business writing and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer engagement skills.
Strong online research and analytical skills.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a high volume environment.
DESIRED SKILLS

Experience in a criminal justice setting and/or grants management experience is preferred.
