Job Description:
Leidos Civil Transportation Solutions is seeking a college graduate for an entry-level systems engineer (SE) position in air traffic domain programs.
The candidate must have some exposure to, or ability to learn, good system engineering practices to contribute to and/or assist with system architecture, system concept development, requirements engineering, operational and decision analysis, systems definition, system risk management, and requirements baseline management.
The candidate will also support analysis of system functional change requests and problem reports, and provide SE support to the software development and integration & test teams.
Responsibilities:
Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will be:
Modernizing the AT control system by improving the availability and performance of the ERAM system.
Supporting ERAM as it continues to migrate ERAM from the AIX operating systems to Linux. Detailed knowledge of Linux OS and OS concepts desirable.
Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities of flight controllers
Developing and maintaining the FAA air traffic control display software within the object oriented environment (primarily Ada95/C++) on a UNIX/Linux platform.
Performing software development as needed for the ERAM system
Coordinate Solutions with Systems Engineering
Coordinate the development of new capabilities and upgrade to common services provided the applications via the FlightDeck API

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 1+ year of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master's degree
