The Defense and Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to work in Huntsville, AL. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Small Unmanned Aircraft System Program mission. In this mission we will analyze performance requirements, develop test procedures and test hardware in the lab. The engineer also will collaborate with and support the engineering team with efforts to test, verify and validate performance of integrated small unmanned systems through hardware-in-the-loop and flight testing. The individual will work closely with other engineers to identify key RF performance parameters for small unmanned systems and supporting ground control stations, document performance parameters in supporting requirements documents and support development of flight test procedures. Additional work supporting outside test labs and agencies will also be required.
The qualified applicant must have minimum 2 years' professional experience with RF design, analysis, and test experience to include analysis of RF waveform performance and propagation, (dynamic range, harmonics, bandwidths, etc.) and RF performance requirements (link analysis, propagation effects, basic antenna design/trades, LNAs, filters, limiters, etc.). Must also have a BS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field. Additionally, have the following;- Experience with lab test equipment for RF hardware such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes- Experience documenting performance requirements and developing test procedures- Experience participating in system field tests to evaluate performance and compliance with requirements- Experience with technical presentations and ability to write technical papers Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with unmanned aircraft and unmanned ground robotics systems, radio communications technologies, networking hardware, security appliances and software Experience with requirements analysis for small unmanned systems- Ability to complete meaningful work in the absence of complete specifications and help create RF system requirements as a work in progress- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Security Clearance
