The Defense and Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer to work in Huntsville, AL. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Small Unmanned Aircraft System Program mission. In this mission we will support design, development and test of SUAS aircraft avionics/flight control systems, associated ground control stations and supporting equipment.
- The qualified applicant must have a minimum of 3 years' of professional experience with development and analysis of system requirements, system architecture, preliminary and detailed system design, development of specifications and test procedures, conduct of subsystem and system integration and test, and conduct of formal system acceptance testing. - A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent degree. - Solid understanding and application of Systems Engineering principles- Experience generating SEMP (Systems Engineering Management Plan) - Ability to derive system and subsystem level requirements through decomposition of the customer CPD (Capability Production Document)-Ability to perform requirements analysis and verify the validity, traceability, and testability of existing requirements-Demonstrated experience creating Requirements Verification Matrix- Experience performing functional analysis/allocation- Experience developing system architecture- Experience conducting trade studies and analysis for product selection-Experience generating artifacts for PDRs, SFRs, and CDRs- Strong written and communication skills- Ability to work closely with test team(s) to facilitate systems integration, verification, and test - Self-starter with a desire to solve problems- Team player with a desire to learn - Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level of clearancePreferred Qualifications- Experience working with unmanned aircraft and unmanned ground robotics systems, radio communications technologies, networking hardware, security appliances and software.- Experience with ground control stations- Experience working with flight HW/SW- Knowledge of RF signal fundamentals, datalink waveforms and encryption - Familiarity with requirements database programs (CRADLE experience is highly desirable)- Skills/experience with Linux shell, MATLAB, C++, Windows- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Security Clearance-Experience working on DOD cyber security systems-INCOSE or similar formal Systems Engineering training
