Job Description:

Leidos has an exciting opening for a Principal Nuclear Scientist! You will be responsible for researching, developing theories, and devising methods to apply laws of physics to include:

Use exploitation products, intelligence resources and engineering expertise to produce intelligence to characterize selected facilities.
• Provide engineering guidance and judgment throughout the characterization process to produce accurate intelligence estimates.
• Work within a matrixed team to include intelligence & imagery analysts, geologists, and targeteers to translate characterization analysis to construct Underground Targeting & Analysis System (UTAS)/ Integrated Munitions Effects Assessment (IMEA) 3-D models for weaponeering.
*Provide expertise related to nuclear weapon production, storage, use, employment and effects

Other duties include possessing common applications of knowledge of physics to practical matters including the development of computers, transistors, laser beams, acoustics, electricity and a wide variety of other devices. You will provides technical advice/input that impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results. Impacts functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace. Serve as a technical lead on large, complex projects. Mentor and coache other technical staff. You will also resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program. Leads the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.
Must have a Masters degree with 15 - 20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13 - 16 years of prior relevant experience.

• Must be familiar with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP or SketchUp).

• Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ poly level clearance
