Job Description:
The Defense & Intelligence Group has a current opening for a Spectral Research Scientist at our Customer site in Springfield, VA This position will support research and development activities, housed at the customer site where the applicant is integrated with the government as well as many contractors. Although the applicant will be part of a team they should be a self-starter who feels comfortable working alone at a customer site. As one of the Spectral Research Scientists on site the applicant should have experience in the following areas as this will be some of the tasks that are required: Provide algorithm and software solutions and hardware solutions for the direction of finding geolocations, electronic beam-steering and other image measure and analysis to meet mission objectives. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The applicant is expected to research and implement object detection and tracking in over-head motion imagery data sets. The candidate will apply their expertise in understanding of commercial state-of-the-art tracking software, as well as serve as an expert in developing and implementing new tracking techniques. It is expected that the applicant will be familiar with typical regression testing techniques and will implement test algorithms against surrogate and synthetic data sets and assess performance based on standard metrics. It is imperative that the applicant be familiar with NGA reporting styles and be able to communicate at a high level as well as technically by write reports and briefings on their findings. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (list the "must have" requirements to be considered for hire) - Experience in remote sensing - Experience with object tracking algorithms - Experience with motion image formation - Experience programming in Matlab and Python. - Computer vision and image processing experience desired. CMOS and CCD imaging experience desired. Must have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in image science, remote sensing, or physics (preferably) and greater than 15 years' experience with post Master's Degree course work (no experience substitution allowed for education requirement) Active TS/SCI is a MUST, as well as the ability to obtain a polygraph
