Leidos is seeking a Deputy Controller to support Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC. The Deputy Controller will help shape strategy to transform business operations. This position is in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Deputy Controller will work with the CNS Business Manager with the day-to-day business service operations.
Duties and responsibilities include financial planning, analysis, forecasting and reporting. Responsible for creating highly accurate and reliable annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts. Advise management on financial aspects of major projects, interpret operating results and evaluating expenditure decisions, identifying operation risk factors that may impact business performance. Provide key business insights and recommendations to achieve current and future goals.
Responsible for leading teams on major programs that have numerous projects or sub-jobs comprising one effort or may oversee several different projects. Manages the development of program plans, budgets, and schedules. Has overall responsibility for work execution, ensuring that all customer requirements and expectations are met or exceeded.
Leads teams on large, highly complex projects typically involving the activities of multiple organizations. Assignments may require an ability to manage conflict involving complex issues, diverse cultures, and multiple organizations. Operates with wide latitude and decision-making authority.
Interfaces with clients, customers, and vendors. Maintains contacts with local commercial and government representatives, such as contracting officers, subcontractors, and suppliers, legal officers, licensing agencies, vendors, etc. Interfaces with teaming partner, corporate management representatives and the managing board of the organization.
Supervises and directs managers of the functional areas of responsibility.
Interprets the financial and business requirements of the existing contract(s), and monitors the performance of the organization against the requirements, tax implications, and any special provisions affecting operations.
Works with client and government auditors, provides required financial and other data to operating personnel and project offices; prepares billing instruction for new jobs and conducts special studies of job costs, overhead costs and profits, as appropriate.
Active DOE Q or TS clearance.
A BA/BS or equivalent experience and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 13+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 12+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
Experience integrating cross-organizational capabilities to solve enterprise level issues and customer requirements. Ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor a wide variety of team efforts to their successful completion.
Knowledge of accounting, finance, and tax principles plus working knowledge of related activities gained through specialized education, training, and/or work experience of a progressively responsible nature.
Working knowledge of commercial management concept and organization.
Demonstrated supervisory skill commensurate with management level responsibility. Experience or skill in activities such as distribution and control of work, interviewing and selection, compensation planning, performance management and career planning discussions when delegated, training and development of personnel and related areas of human resources.
Excellent skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing regarding all matters. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad range of customers to solve complex business related issues.
Extensive knowledge of commercial/business management functions with work experience of a progressively responsible nature. Responsible for managing multiple business functions, systems and processes on large, complex projects. Exercises autonomy in decisions with a long-term impact on the project.
Proven leadership and management ability. Ability to be people sensitive, to promote an open and informal communication environment, to develop mutual trust and teamwork, and to facilitate employee self-development.
It is best if the person has a strong interest in conduct of operations at a manufacturing and assembly plant/facility.
