The Radar and Electronics Warfare Group at Leidos in Ridgecrest, CA is seeking a well-qualified and experienced Journeyman Assembler. This opportunity is associated with our Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Range (AEWTTR) Program. The successful candidate will perform a range of duties including Assembly, Production, and Installation of electrical/mechanical/logical subsystems and systems for complex Radar, Electronic Warfare, Instrumentation and Communications Systems used by US and Allied Training and Test & Evaluation Ranges.
Responsible for providing assembly and manufacture of electrical, electronic, logical and mechanical assemblies, subsystems and systems. Provides assembly, subsystem and system installation and integration support to engineers on technical projects and/or products related to Radar, Electronic Warfare, Instrumentation and Communications Systems. Duties include building, assembling, installing, integrating, and testing of assemblies, subsystems and systems as assigned by Manufacturing Group Manager and/or Senior Engineering Technologists. Duties include collecting technical information, drawings and materials necessary to execute assigned Work Packages. Additional duties include accessing databases of parts, materials and drawings in order to support the generation of Material Requests and Travelers in accordance with assigned Work Packages.
Requires a High School Diploma and 2+ years relevant experience or AA/AS or Technical Trades Certification and 1+ years relevant experience related to building, assembling, installing, integrating, and testing electrical, electronic, logical and mechanical assemblies, subsystems and systems typically found in military systems. Requires experience soldering wires, connectors, and circuit boards. Requires knowledge of specialized hand and power tools, and test equipment typically used in manufacture and testing of electronics, electrical, logical and mechanical assemblies, subsystems and systems. Requires ability to read, understand and interpret detailed electrical/mechanical/logical line drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, and work packages either in hardcopy or electronic/database formats. Requires ability to gain certification as Certified Solderer.
Preferred general experience includes experience involving assembly and manufacture of electrical, electronic, digital, and mechanical components and subsystems typically found in mobile military training equipment. Preferred specialized experience includes knowledge, skills and abilities related to Radar, Electronic Warfare, Instrumentation and Communication systems utilized in DoD Test & Evaluation and Training Ranges, and Weapons platforms and systems. Certification as a Certified Solderer is preferred.
