Leidos has a job opening for a Software Engineer Intern in Dayton, OH.

POSITION/PROGRAM SUMMARY:We are seeking a talented engineer intern with an interest in DevOps to support our continued growth. Our Devops team works side by side with the software engineering, and operations teams and will be responsible for designing, implementing and automating build, release, deployment, monitoring and configuration activities. A successful candidate will have some priors around automation, systems administration, or configuration management. This role is broadly equivalent to that of a site-reliability engineer. This position is located in Dayton, OH.

-Pursue a rigorous, disciplined approach to software development process and automation.
-Implement automation, continuous deployment, build, and configuration management.
-Actively participate in Engineering Scrum and design meetings to drive quality releases.
-Develop, test and maintain build and deployment scripts in CI/CD framework/tools.
-Monitor applications with Application Performance Monitoring tools.

-Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or related field, and have completed at least two years of an undergraduate curriculum with a mniimum 3.0 GPA.
-1+ years' of experience with Bash or Python, ideally in an automation focused capacity.
-Experience with Linux and Windows system administration.
-Fluent in Bash and Python, as well as Java, C++, Scala, or Rust.
-Working familiarity with Git or Mercurial.
-Able to obtain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
-US citizenship is required.

-Experience with Foreman or similar provisioning management tool.
-1+ years' experience using Puppet or Chef for configuration management.
-Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment.
-Working familiarity with VMware or KVM hypervisors.
-Hobbyist or professional experience with AWS.
