Job Description:
The Civil Health Operation is seeking a Network Team Lead, contingent upon contract award, in Rockville, MD Lead the network team to manage the network infrastructure that has evolved into an enterprise class solution. That solution is comprised of approximately 23 routers, 196 switches, 4 DWDM nodes, 3 firewalls, 3 VPN devices, 10 IDS/SIEM and 8 NAC appliances. These devices are distributed throughout 45 buildings at the various agency campuses. The campus locations themselves extend from Virginia to Maryland and Montana. The current network backbone bandwidth is 10 gigabit between campuses as well as 10 gigabit to the parent agency perimeter. The team will support planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and video formats. Responsibilities: Provide efficient and effective network operations, maintenance and repair support for all supported networked components to maximize service availability, performance, security, and capacity. Provide efficient performance monitoring of all supported network components issuing timely and accurate notification of network outages to management. Support, maintain, and enhance as required, established strategies for network operations to ensure continuity of the agency's business operations and timely recovery in the event of disaster. Collect, store, and analyze data relevant to monitored network components to perform and report accurate root causal analysis of all related issues and support trend analysis and forecasting. Effectively manage the procurement and maintenance of all supplies, materials, and supporting software licenses and service agreements required to ensure agency supported network components meet minimum performance and availability requirements. Ensure effective change and configuration management of all supported network to establish and maintain consistency of the network's performance and its functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life. Collaborate with the government to develop and maintain standard operating procedures for operation, maintenance, and repair of supported components. Ensure all network-related data and documentation is added to, and maintained current within, OCICB's Knowledge Database and Document Library to provide efficient access to a complete and current source of operationally relevant structured and unstructured data. Provide after-hours monitoring and timely problem resolution for networks commensurate with the mission criticality of the affected system(s). Provide efficient and effective support or evaluation of new or evolving network technologies, as the Government deems appropriate, to enhance the agency's cyber capabilities.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent and 8+ years of deep technical experience managing network solutions from Cisco Professional certs preferred.
Requires US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
