Job Description:
The Civil Health Operation is seeking a Server Operations Lead, contingent upon contract award, in Rockville, MD Lead the server operations team in an environment consists of Windows and Linux based-operating systems and currently consists of more than 1,200 or more VMware virtual and physical servers. The performance objective for the Server Operations and Maintenance is that users have on-demand access to all supported applications and network services in accordance with performance standards and management has current and accurate status of all network servers. The team support shall include planning, analysis, design, development, testing, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and management of all servers within the agency's network environments located in it's Data Centers. The team shall manage and support various server-related technologies, such as Unified Communications (including, but not limited to, Skype for Business VoIP and Polycom videoteleconferencing) and application and desktop virtualization systems. The team shall manage and monitor supported network servers and related systems, both physical and virtual, providing on-site support Responsibilities Provide efficient and effective Operations Support of all supported network servers, both physical and virtual, as necessary to meet or exceed agency's operational availability and performance requirements. Provide for accurate, complete, and timely recording and reporting of all technical support-related activities, issues, and outcomes in accordance with (IAW) SOPs. Support, maintain, and enhance as required, established strategies for server operations to ensure continuity of agency's business operations and timely recovery in the event of disaster. Collect, store, and analyze data relevant to monitored servers to perform and report accurate root causal analysis of all related issues and support trend analysis and forecasting. Effectively manage the procurement and maintenance of all supplies, materials, and supporting software licenses and service agreements required to ensure supported network servers meet minimum performance and availability requirements. Ensure effective change and configuration management of all supported servers to establish and maintain consistency of each server's performance and its functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life. In collaboration with the agency, develop and maintain SOPs for operation, maintenance, and repair of OCICB-supported network servers. Ensure all server-related data and documentation is added to and maintained current within the Knowledge Database and Document Library to provide efficient access to a complete and current source of operationally relevant structured and unstructured data. Provide after-hours monitoring and timely problem resolution for servers commensurate with the mission criticality of the affected system(s). Effectively manage and support the backend infrastructure of agency's unified communications systems, including Skype for Business and Polycom VT, including but not limited to domestic and international calling, emergency calling, PSTN-connectivity, telepresence systems, and video teleconferencing. Provide efficient and effective implementation, support, or evaluation of new or evolving server technologies, both physical and virtual, as the agency deems appropriate, to enhance it's cyber capabilities.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent and 8+ years of deep technical experience managing Data Centers, VMWare Infrastructure, Skype for Business Professional certs preferred.
Requires US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
