Job Description:

Leidos has a job opening for a IT Infrastructure Project Coordinator Intern in Reston, VA.

POSITION/PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Support IT requirements for new office building project. This entails a review of requirements with vendors, managing schedules and ensuring effective deployment of technology solutions. Solutions should be Information Assurance approved by Leidos and in compliance with NIST standards. Partnering and coordination with internal and external IT leads, and vendors will be required.

This position is for a highly motivated person who is well versed in Information Technology (IT) technical skills to assist with building new construction & remodeling project. This position is based in Reston & Centreville VA and will require an occasional visit a remote office in Gaithersburg, MD.

The candidate should have the strong IT background and understanding of Audio Visual technology, Collaboration tools, IT LAN /WAN architecture and project management tools, i.e., MS Project and other MS Office application suites.

Recommended technologies should adequately protect the corporate network architecture and provide the appropriate level of security to ensure application data is not compromised.

The candidate will be required to maintain a good working relationship with the project teams and all stakeholders from diverse groups/workforce with cultural differences.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-The position will require working with management on the administration of the Reston Corporate office building construction project.
-Oversight and management of project schedule and helping with the development of presentation and communication documents for upper management.
-It requires Network Management/Administration and development experience with a minimum of LAN/WAN administration knowledge and Microsoft Project experience.
-Regular coordination and understanding of job requirements of functional teams such as Audio Visual (AV), Collaboration tools Skype, VTC technologies and being flexible to accommodate unique requirements are vital.
-Ensure adequate documentation of team technical communication session and workgroups.
-Capture and provide status on key project watch items to leadership for project reporting. Ensure concurrence from the team on how identified technologies will be effectively integrated to network infrastructure, compliance, and provide the appropriate level of security to prevent data from being compromised ensuring data integrity.

Key roles also include:
-Utilizing Project Management, Microsoft Project & Microsoft Office Application Suite skills
-Should be very detail oriented & with excellent communication skills
-Effective team player abilities & flexibility to adjust to ad-hoc changing schedules

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Network, Project Management or a related field. with an average 3.0 GPA.
-Should have a good foundation and understanding of IT WAN, LAN & Wireless architecture technologies and be very familiar with Microsoft tools with a strong background in Microsoft Project & PowerPoint.
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills and must be familiar with configuration/installation of computer hardware/software and work independently.
-Must have knowledge of management of computer networks including WAN/LAN, AV VLAN setup and management. Equivalent experience/education combinations are permitted.
-US Citizenship is required.

-Extensive understanding of collation tool AV, Digital Whiteboard technologies & Skype communication technology
