This position, within the Leidos - Civil, Transportation Solutions line of business and staffed in Gaithersburg, MD is within the System Engineering/Maintenance Implementation Engineering organization. The position will support the sustainment of the ERAM program, which supports the FAA's NextGen mission for advancing Air Traffic Control systems.
Support the Maintenance Implementation Engineering organization with System Life Cycle sustainment efforts on FAA Air Traffic Control programs. Primary role focuses on develop and execution of systems sustainment strategy to meet customer requirements. Includes evaluating Depot repair and field failure data for metric development, trend analysis and risk assessment/mitigation. Assessing engineering changes to determine impact to system sustainment as well as developing spares modeling based on equipment reliability data and field installation quantities.
Role requires working with our off-site Depot facility on repair and replacement execution of equipment failures, the management of OEM warranties, evaluating End-of-Life notifications, and supporting identification of form, fit, functional replacements. Sustainment and maintenance
analysis and recommendations of OEM COTS equipment. Candidate will interface with other specialty engineering organizations (Reliability & Maintainability Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Systems Integration) on field failure trouble-shooting and analysis.
Duties may include supporting business process improvements or systems analysis for missions, systems, and fiscal requirements. Solves simple, routine technical problems following established procedures and policies. Develops products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts within own technical specialty.
Requires BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
Candidate should have good MS: Office (Excel, WORD, PWRPT, Access) skills, ACAD/VISIO a plus. Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to this area.
