Job Description:

Position Summary

Provides air operations subject matter expertise for the Joint Staff sponsored Coalition Capability Demonstration and Assessment series, commonly known as 'Bold Quest'. Functions as part of a small team in a time-compressed environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Supports the annual Bold Quest life cycle:
  • Exercise/demonstration planning
    • Validates requirements with US Service and coalition nation participants
    • Conducts initial and detailed planning
    • Develops Concepts of Operations, Operations Plans, and Operations Orders
  • Exercise/demonstration execution
    • Configures Exercise Control facilities
    • Directs Exercise Control activities
  • Exercise/demonstration post execution
    • Facilitates After-action Reviews
    • Supports analysis (e.g., validates findings, documents integration and interoperability issues)
    • Contributes to report writing efforts
  • Interfaces with senior Government agencies, technical and administrative personnel, as well as other contractor/ subcontractor personnel

Required Qualifications
  • 5 years military background
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Air Operations/Airspace Management experience at Component/Tactical Level:
    • Prior JFACC or Navy Strike Group staff Air Operations experience
    • Served in Combat Plans, Combat Ops billets or Strike Ops
    • Developed and executed ATOs ACP/ACO/SPINS
  • Knowledge of staff planning, execution and monitoring of military operations with emphasis on interoperability issues and its applications to joint warfare
  • High degree of originality, resourcefulness and diplomacy, as required to deal effectively with the range of responsibilities and diverse organizations and individuals within the Joint Staff J-6's sphere of responsibilities
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Intermediate office computer skills
