Global Information Grid (GIG) Service Management-Operations (GSM-O), a program within the Defense and Intelligence Group of Leidos, has an opening for a Voice Network Analyst. Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at Scott AFB, IL and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations.
Job Summary:The team member will provide support to the Operational Engineer (OE) Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and the Performance Management Operations Manager as a member of the Performance Management (PM) team. The Voice Network Analyst will act as the focal point for all IP voice service performance tasks. The Analyst will be responsible for collection, analysis, trending, proactive remediation measures to ensure continued operability and efficiency of DISN services.
Primary Responsibilities - Actively monitor, track, analyze, and report performance data and statistics on circuits and/or network elements that fails to meet defined service levels.- Trend network data and develop event correlation procedures to identify recurring issues.- Develop preventative measures, alarms, and dashboard capabilities based on historical data trends and identified root causes and signatures.- Develop processing techniques to integrate Cisco and Avaya voice platforms, Call Managers, Unity, VOIP gateways, SIP, and Boundary Controllers within the performance monitoring realm.- Perform proactive monitoring of network elements, server health, hardware issues and alarms to identify issues through use of network management system(s) and associated monitoring tools. - Correlate large diverse data sets including tickets, alarms, probes, and other performance data to identify trends and relations. - Perform fault isolation and degradation diagnostic/assessment functions to include root cause determination and suggestion of corrective action(s) on trending basis.- Analyze data to trend call quality metrics such as MOS, voice latency, etc as it relates to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
Education:- Typically requires BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. 3-5 years of additional related experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Experience:- Advanced knowledge of IT networks, to include network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, call managers, domain name servers, firewalls)- Experience analyzing real time service voice and video SIP signaling and call flow.- Understand WAN principles, Cisco Voice, Avaya Voice and Data networks- In depth technical understanding of network services and architecture- Knowledge of IP networks using routing methods such as BGP, ISIS or OSPF, Static routing, ports and protocols- Knowledge of G.711 and G.729 codecs- Knowledge of Integrated Access Devices (IADs), and SIP to PBX technologies, Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP, SRTP), Digital Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF)- Currently possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)- Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, (Examples: Security+ CE, CCNA Security)- Strong written and verbal communications and collaboration skills
