Job Description:

Leidos currently has an opening for a System Administrator to work in our Orlando, Florida office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in the modeling and simulation domain. Your primarily be responsible for designing, implementing and managing Windows infrastructure. Tasks will focus on improving the stability and performance of the system, maintaining and improving the security posture of the systems, implementing and managing Endpoint Protection architecture, Backup system operations, continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise with the systems used to support the program. Additionally, your duties may include operations and support, maintenance and research, and development to ensure continual operation of Linux, Windows, and other application systems that support the program's infrastructure and software development (R&D) mission. You will also be responsible for the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) for the operational infrastructure to include regression testing and implementation

Roles and Responsibilities:
The following list outlines some specific responsibilities included in this position:
  • Effective installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure
  • Fault isolation and diagnostic/assessment functions to include determination and execution of corrective action(s) on real-time basis
  • Planning assistance for upgrades and replacements for the program assets reaching the end of their life cycle
  • Support for asset acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Administrative-level installation, configuration, and maintenance on all components/assets associated with the program
  • Contributions to and maintenance of the security posture of the system in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, CTOs, and IAVM policies
  • Support senior staff, as required, and satisfaction of customer requirements and project milestones
  • Interfacing with functional users in both routine and reactive monitoring situations; situations that often require the ability to gain cooperation of others
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, & other technical resources)
  • Ability to explain technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization
  • Work independently on moderately complex projects and assignments
  • Ability to develop solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge
  • Additional duties, as required.


Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with Windows Enterprise Servers (2012R2 at a minimum)
  • Proficiency in the following:
    • Windows Server Management Tools
    • Powershell Scripting
    • Backup schemes, topology's, and concepts
    • Technical procedure development
    • Analyzing log files
    • Security configuration concepts
    • Endpoint protection policy development
  • Other required certifications:
    • Information Assurance Baseline Certification IAW DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II (CompTIA SEC+, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)


Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration

  • Some level of RHEL administration and server virtualization is desirable
  • Familiarity with switches and routers configurations is a plus
