We currently have an opening for a Aviation Safety Officer to work in our Manassas, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to be apart of the Leidos team and mission. The Aviation Safety Officer is responsible for administering the program's Safety Management System (SMS).
Responsible for maintaining the Safety Management System (SMS) program meeting and exceeding the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) AS 9110 rev. D and the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) 2017 standard.
Responsible for general safety policies and objectives as outlined by FAR Part 91and DOD/DCMA 8210.1C flight operations for Leidos and oversight of sub-contractors.
Travels to both CONUS and OCONUS sites of operation to ensure safety compliance and familiarity with current conditions and needs.
Maintains and provides innovative solutions to collecting, tracking and reporting on safety related trends.
Maintains the program's Pre-Accident Plan (PAP) both CONUS and for OCONUS operations.
Responsible for obtaining and maintaining audit ratings and database collection.
Responsible for representing Leidos and the HR3DGI program during audits.
Established and maintains a formal method of safety communication.
Perform other duties as required by the Director, Aviation Operations.

BA/BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer and in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Must be able to meet all CRC deployment and medical requirements in case deployment is needed.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently.
Must have an active DOD SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI DOD security clearance.
Knowledge and experience of project management and knowledge of process and performance management and improvement.
The candidate shall meet the physical demand rating of light, lifts on an occasional basis; a maximum of 25 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 10 pounds.
Expert knowledge and experience in operational communication, collaboration, and information and data management solutions, preferably with US military or USG agencies dealing with DCMA 8210.1C compliance.
Must have specific and in-depth knowledge of military operations, organization, terminology and the execution of staff planning (Joint Military Decision Making Process) in a joint, combined and interagency environment.
B-300/350 OR DHC-8 type rating
2,500 hours of PIC time
400 hours of Multiengine
200 hours Turbine time
200 hours of Instrument (actual) time
Rating held for the last two (2) consecutive years
Proline 21 experience
Former U.S. Military, Customs, DEA Pilot or US Contracting ISR Pilot
Prior OCONUS rotation experience, particularly in current area of operation
