We are the Chief Information Office (CIO) Services Customer and User Engagement team at Leidos. We provide Leidos employees with the information and support they need to make their IT experience efficient and effective. We are an internal-facing team that provides communications, engagement, training, documentation, usability support for all facets of IT. We are a creative and hardworking team. We help our fellow employees, whether it be through preparing them for a new system via communications and training, providing support on an existing system, or improving processes so that they can focus on their business objectives. We are seeking an intern to support us in improving our employees' experiences with IT services.

You are a student in the IT, Communications, Technical Writing, or User Experience field that wants to learn the people-side of IT implementations. You are familiar with usability, content strategy and user experience principles and can apply them to technical topics. As a writer, you can review, edit and organize content and make it easy to find and easy to understand. You will learn how to apply Organizational Change Management principles to IT implementations to help employees and users more easily adopt to changes. You will work with a geographically dispersed team of IT project managers, service lifecycle managers, executives and engineers to all user-facing aspects of the CIO Organization.
We are looking for someone who is a critical thinker and a self-starter. You maintain a positive attitude and are a standout colleague. A keen eye for details, especially when it comes grammar and spelling, is required. If you are passionate about developing impactful user experiences, we have the internship for you.
-Develop and manage an internal SharePoint site. Work closely with leadership to gather requirements for SharePoint site. Conduct SharePoint programming, documenting, managing configuration, and testing.
-Work with team members to design simple training, communications and engagement activities for rolling out new IT services to Leidos employees.
-Help to implement and embed usability into all IT projects and throughout the core of the IT Services organization by applying processes and methodologies.
-Support content management of all IT content on the Leidos intranet and revise, rewrite, and reorganize it as necessary and work with managers, engineers, and developers to write and review it to ensure it is usable.
-Support technical writers on standards, processes, style guides and developing documentation.
-Provide customer support to employees with IT questions and develop meaningful content about IT to publish on the intranet on common questions.
-Support other team members as required with meeting logistics and coordination.
-Work with other IT resources to identify employee impacts resulting from IT changes and develop strategies to mitigate the impacts.
-Pursuing a B.S. Degree in IT, Communications, Technical Writing, User Experience, Psychology or equivalent, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
-Familiar with usability, content strategy and user experience principles and can apply them to technical topics.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Ability to work well with others and under deadlines.
-Ability to multi-task across many different projects.
-Knowledge of MS office programs, especially SharePoint.
-US Citizenship is required.
-Knowledge of HTML
-Experience with customer service, technical writing, usability, training, content management, and/or UX.
