Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Cyber Technical Trainer who possesses at least a DoD Secret clearance. This position will support the TRADOC Cyber Center of Excellence Regional Training Center at Ft. Carson, Colorado, providing subject matter expertise in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of training curriculum for Warfighter Readiness systems. The primary focus of the training will be on new Cyber Command concepts and posture IHSU to support new cyber trained personnel arriving into the Corps / Divisions. The classes will include: Certified Ethical Hacking / Certified Incident Handler / Intrusion Detection / Hacker Techniques / Basic Forensics / Advanced Forensics / CISSP. The Cyber Technical Trainer will provide guidance to supporting commands and coordinates with internal and external organizations to ensure completeness of training product. The Trainer will also maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge and skills required to execute all field service Technician tasks assigned.

This position is responsible for planning, organizing and maintain the highest level of technical and instructional expertise in the subject area assigned. This position works under direction of the Commandant and will interface with military students to train the latest system curriculum for military training preparedness to setup, configure, operate, and maintain the system in the field. In addition, a successful candidate will use their military training and system experience, combined with their commercial training qualification to inject evolving curriculum with the latest commercial cyber security principals, enabling students to sit for commercial exams at the conclusion of training.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1) Curriculum Development:
a. Coordinate with Government customers to identify needs, develop specifications for content of courses, and implement training programs.
b. Adapt CompTIA training materials into system-specific curriculum to ensure the training program reflects application features and prepares participants for dual certification (commercial and military).
c. Develop course materials and determine appropriate training methods or activities.
d. Update course documentation and user guides on a continuous basis to ensure relevance of system upgrades, evolving functionality, and lessons learned from system usage.

2) Training Services:
a. Support training schedules for military units and Government agencies in CONUS/OCONUS at unit home stations, TDY locations, and or during field missions by way of Mobile Training Teams (MTT).
b. Classroom set-up to support each individual class. All classrooms maintained in ready-state prior to the start of each day. Books, equipment and supplies are arranged properly for each student and establish an environment conducive to learning.
c. Using the "train the trainer" curriculum, instruct participants in classroom lectures, labs, and coaching/tutoring to produce competent trainees for all operational aspects for the assigned C4ISR system.
d. Provides DoD 8570 certification training and testing.
e. Test and evaluate participants to measure their learning progress and the effectiveness of training programs.
f. Follow up to determine applicability of course material, including developing criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
g. Prepare After Action Reports (AARs) detailing the training provided and course statistics including number of students, pass/fail ratio, and student end-of-course survey score.

3) Lead Instructor
a. Coordinate with Government customers to ensure team schedules are managed and disseminated as appropriate.
b. Works closely with the customer to design specific system requirements and content.
c. Proactively collaborate with technical experts to develop solutions to technical problems.
d. Keep abreast of system upgrades and industry-related current events in order to provide solid recommendations to enhance the existing training program.
e. Mentor other instructors by providing internal instructor training and oversee teach-backs. Prepare technical expertise development plan for all instructors.
f. Ensure classrooms and training equipment are prepared in advance of all classes and all equipment is properly disassembled/stored.

4) Cross Training:
a. Participate in formal training and self-instruction / use on complimentary XXX systems and protocols to increase the breadth of systems competency for training and fielding requirements.

5) Continuing Education:
a. Continue education through self-study and other methods to maintain instructor certification status, as applicable.

Basic Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret security clearance required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) code in lieu of Degree
Obtain and maintain a Pearson Vue Certified Proctor certification
Candidate should have 6 years of related experience.
Candidate must have a combination of any of the following certifications:
CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) / CompTIA Security + / CCNA Security / CompTIA Project+/ CompTIA Linux+/ CompTIA Network+/ ITIL / Project Management Professional (PMP) / CISSP / CEH.
Candidate should be familiar with and ability to teach Advanced Networking, Network security, and DOD 85-70 material.

Experience with commercial technical training
Experience with military training
Must be confident making decisions and working without direct supervision
Leadership experience
Excellent verbal, interpersonal communications, and presentation skill
