Leidos is seeking an Information System Security Engineer to work in Bowie, MD. The Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) will work with a team for to design, develop, integrate and maintain secure networking, computing, and enclave environments. The candidate will apply existing knowledge of Information Assurance policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement these environments. Additionally, the candidate will have experience in network technology, network security assessments, and systems security engineering; experience in identifying, researching, characterizing, and documenting security weaknesses related to operating systems, software applications, firmware, network hardware components, as well as network architecture design and documented policies and procedures.
Education: B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline is preferred; relevant years of ISSE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. DoD approved 8570 baseline certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)) is a firm requirement.
Required Skills: This position requires at least 12 years of technical experience, with 5+ years of hands on experience implementing security and/or network components (i.e. routers, firewalls, IPS, IDS, etc). Experience within the Linux Operating System (CentOS) and Windows Operating System environment is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely are also required.
