Leidos's is currently seeking a full-time Epidemiologist I to support the Deployment Health Research department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA.
This position will support the Deployment Health Research Department in their mission to examine the effects of deployment and career experiences on the overall physical and mental health of service members and their families. Currently, the department has several major research studies in progress, including the Millennium Cohort Study, the Millennium Cohort Family Study, the Birth and Infant Health Research Program, and the Recruit Assessment Program. This position will work closely with Principal Investigators, epidemiologists, analysts and study coordinators to support ongoing research efforts.
Conduct comprehensive literature reviews
Develop and submit research proposals
Work with research team to refine research methodology and construct database to appropriately answer study questions
Use ICD-9/ICD-10 and Current Procedural Terminology codes to identify medical exposures and outcomes of interest
Use SAS to clean and analyze data and interpret results Develop presentations, manuscripts, and reports describing study findings.
Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or related field
Minimum one year of work experience in public health or related field
Minimum one year of experience conducting and publishing relevant research as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator
One first-authored article in a peer-reviewed journal
Advanced proficiency in SAS
Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
