Job Description:

The Executive Assistant will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for a senior executive within a federal agency, and their office staff. This is a full-time position located at Fort Detrick, MD, and will be filled contingent upon award of a contract.

Duties include: serving as the office receptionist to receive and route phone inquiries to the appropriate office staff member; maintaining the leadership calendar; supporting the office staff by scheduling/coordinating meetings, conference rooms, conference calls, VTC capabilities, special events, etc.; preparing correspondence and other documentation; assisting in the inventory and management of government property and ordering of office supplies; coordinating CONUS/OCONUS travel and expense reimbursements for government personnel and other individuals receiving travel expense reimbursement from the office; assisting the Information Assurance Security Officer in requesting new computer accounts, deleting old accounts, and modifying current accounts for the office staff and its contractors; maintaining training records for office staff; and maintaining office files. The Executive Assistant will be expected to take initiative, work independently, and perform tasks with minimal direction.

REQUIREMENTS: Individuals must have a high school diploma, be a U.S. citizen, and be able to successfully pass a Public Trust Investigation. Individuals must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar administrative position, must demonstrate maturity and excellent interpersonal and customer support skills, be well-organized, must understand and employ proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and must be familiar with the formatting of government correspondence. Individuals must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Desired: Experience with Department of Defense travel regulations and the Defense Travel System, as well as prior experience in a senior executive office are highly desirable.
