The Leidos Civil Group is seeking a number of Engineers for its Research Support Services (RSS) contract for the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). NETL is a DOE national laboratory that produces technological solutions for America's energy challenges. From developing creative innovations and efficient energy systems that make coal more competitive, to advancing technologies that enhance oil and natural gas extraction and transmission processes, NETL research is providing breakthroughs and discoveries that support home-grown energy initiatives, stimulate a growing economy, and improve the health, safety, and security of all Americans. Highly skilled men and women at three NETL research sites - Albany, Ore., Morgantown, W.Va., and Pittsburgh, Pa. - conduct a broad range of research activities that support DOE's mission to advance the national, economic, and energy security of the United States. NETL's research spans the entire fossil energy value chain - exploration and production; processing and production; conversion, and; disposal/reuse - with a focus on enabling activities in each segment of the value chain to be performed as efficiently and environmentally-responsibly as possible.
These positions are in support the conduct of research at NETL's three research sites in Pittsburgh, Pa.; Morgantown, W.Va., and; Albany, Ore. ( https://www.netl.doe.gov/research/on-site-research ) Duties may include: (1) providing administrative assistance to program/project management; (2) performing a variety of administrative tasks in such functional areas as finance, human resources, purchasing, and research and development, and; (3) preparing budgeting, project scheduling, statistical, staffing, and project status reports as required. Using both Leidos established processes and tools as well as those required and made available by NETL, these positions will involve supporting the planning, tracking, analyzing and reporting on (a) all work conducted under this contract relative to budget, staffing, schedule, accomplishment of objectives, etc.; (b) all government-furnished property assigned to staff from Leidos and its team members; (c) the onsite location of all staff from Leidos and its team members; (d) the status of completion of all NETL-required training by all staff from Leidos and its team members, and; (e) various other regular and ad hoc reports as required by NETL. Responsibilities will include significant interface with the Business Office Manager, Program Manager, CLIN Managers, Task Order Managers, Contracts, and other support organizations in the collection, analysis, and finalization of various reporting inputs. The successful candidate will work daily in both local and dispersed team settings that will require interfacing with engineers, scientists, technicians, subject matter experts, faculty members, post-doctoral students, and graduate and undergraduate students from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, all of whom are employees of Leidos, the Leidos Research Services Team, or Leidos subcontractors under this contract.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work collaboratively and independently in both local and dispersed team settings and to communicate verbally and in writing with peers, colleagues and supervisors to obtain or provide information. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with Hyperion, Cognos, Fusion, Cobra, LPAS, and Costpoint is desirable.
