Job Description:

Provide database administration to the National Virtual Translation Center (NVTC). Senior developer with specialized skills training and skills in particular technology area such as modern database management systems, Service-Oriented Architecture, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Representational State Transfer, etc.

Primary Responsibilities

The DBA's function shall include, but not limited to:
  • Apply functional and technical expertise in the resolution of advanced analysis and design or programming problems
  • Administer TONS databases, reporting, query generation, performance tuning and support development activities related to data operation
  • Maintain TONS data model
  • Interface with the user community in NVTC operations to assess needs
  • Develop requirements
  • Take appropriate measures to provide metrics and ad hoc reports on an as needed basis


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related Technical field or equivalent in experience and expertise
  • 10 or more years programming including at least 5 years of database management experience (Oracle preferred) with increasing level of technical expertise in system analysis and programming;
  • A professional background in database administration; ideally in a U.S. Government environment;
  • Oracle certified DB Administrator
  • Current TS clearance, with SCI eligibility


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS specifically RDS service
