Job Description:

The Advanced Solutions Group of Leidos has a career opportunity for a Project Analyst in Abingdon, MD to support a critical modernization effort of the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) in order to satisfy the vision of Program Executive Office (PEO) Command Control Communications - Tactical (C3T) and Project Manager Mission Command. The Project Analyst will be expected to support program operations and earned value efforts to assist the technical teams in in delivering a fully-functional software system.

The AFATDS is a multi-service, automated command, coordination, communication, and computing system that provides automated fire support and coordination to all echelons, from firing unit through theater level, at Army, Marine Corps, Naval Firing Platforms, Navy Command and Amphibious Assault Ships, Air Force Operations Centers, and Joint Command and Control Centers. AFATDS enables the automatic application of the Force Commander's guidance in the Fires Warfighting Function to plan, execute, and deliver effects at all levels of command within the current and future force. AFATDS can automatically tailor the selection of fire support assets (field artillery, mortars, close air support, naval gunfire, attack helicopters, and offensive electronic warfare assets) based on the Commander's guidance, thereby enabling maximum effective use of all available fire support assets across the full spectrum of conflict.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review weekly labor cost reports and identify discrepancies

• Work with the Control Account Managers to assist with cost analysis, charge number allocations, and earned value status reporting

• Coordinate procurement requests and ensure requests are finalized and received

• Assist with the maintenance of the program's Integrated Data Environment (SharePoint)

• Serve as a contributor to the PMO, working with the team to improve processes and procedures
• Assist with risk management efforts including populating metrics for reporting purposes

• Assist with the development of content for program reviews and contract milestones

• Coordinate the compilation of program documentation inclusive of work instructions, management plans, and directives

• Work with highly technical teams to report status and assist with other support tasks, as required

• Assist with personnel management efforts inclusive of equipment allocation and management, and other tasks as assigned

• Work with functional support teams, including project controls, contracts, subcontracts, and security, to assist with program requests

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.

• Experience Microsoft Office Tools, Office, Excel, PowerPoint

• Familiarity with Integrated Data Environments, inclusive of SharePoint

• Ability to effectively communicate, and collaborate with a large team, inclusive of onsite and offsite personnel
• Ability to effectively multi-task in order to meet competing demands

• Ability to problem-solve and develop creative solutions to mediate issues

• Effectively communicate with Junior to Senior level personnel; inclusive of written and oral communication

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors and work with personnel to correct issues

• Willingness to learn project management and earned value concepts and principles

• Understanding of cost and financial concepts
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance
    • US Citizenship is required
