Job Description:

The IT Technician will be responsible for providing Help Desk support for Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues for all systems owned, operated, and managed at the AOC. The IT Technician will track and maintain a report of all software in use at the AOC. Provided primary Tier I and II troubleshooting support. Provide Tier 2 support along with the system administrator. Supports the system administration as a junior system administrator. This position is a full time responsibility will be located at the main on-site Alliance Facility.

Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include:

Provides support to distributed PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for stand-alone PCs, PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals.

Support responsibilities include software installation, and configurations. This technician performs technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages.

Job duties require the technician to install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, configure operating system, load shrink-wrap programs and other application software programs. In this position, the incumbent troubleshoots computer problems, performs hardware and software diagnostics, coordinates needed repairs, resolves computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network, and participates in the evaluation of system configuration and software.

Basic Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position

Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills

Excellent communication ability Outstanding organizational and time-management skills In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks

Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
