Job Description:

Leidos is seeking an AWS GovCloud Engineer. The position is based in Gaithersburg, MD, but the selected candidate will have the option to work remotely.

The AWS GovCloud Engineer is responsible for integration and implementation of the AWS GovCloud infrastructure that will support Leidos. The AWS GovCloud Engineer will adhere to internal team standards and processes as well as documentation for the design, implementation, and operations of COTS solutions to support implementation of an enterprise Agile SecDevOps capability. The Cloud Engineer will build and integrate new systems and assist in the implementation of COTS and FOSS products to public cloud resources; provide technical recommendations of infrastructure solutions; implement the solution(s) required to fulfill business requirements; and support development, integration, test and validation activities to prove system effectiveness, performance, and readiness during testing and operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Support the design and maintenance of the enterprise-wide baseline of CIS L1 and L2 hardened images and Ubunto OS
• Provides input on design, implementation, operations, user guides, and training materials
• Performs support and training for engineering and operations staff as required
• Performs development and integration of Operating System and COTS/FOSS for the SecDevOps capabilities
• Performs full integration of SecDevOps tools that support continuous integration and continuous delivery, to include JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Kubernetes and Artifactory.
• Provides appropriate input on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of COTS and FOSS capabilities
• Reviews and provides input to policies and standard operating procedures
• Be able to jump into troubleshooting efforts when asked and as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant major from an accredited college or university with 7+ years of continuous and progressive experience
• Must have experience with development, maintenance, and operations of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Amazon GovCloud
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, NACLs, firewalling, authentication and load balancing concepts
• Hands-on experience with cloud automation implementation mechanisms for defensive cybersecurity
• Must have strong experience with Ansible
• Must have experience with system automation
• Must be familiar with source and artifact control and configuration management, and be able to use applicable technologies
• Solid time management skills with the ability to plan, organize and implement multiple initiatives and deadline-driven workloads while consistently providing outstanding customer service
• Detail-oriented, proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills
• Willingness and ability to collaborate across internal practices and with other team members
• Ability to work within an organized and structured delivery-centric team
• Proficient in cloud technologies, cloud storage and network systems
• Must have experience planning, installing, configuring, and patching Ubunto CIS hardened images
• Must have experience with virtualization technologies
• Must have experience with fundamental storage concepts: filesystems, backup, cloning, snapshotting, logical volume management, disk encryption
• Experienced in supporting project teams in all phases of development
• Must have IT security focus; experience working on security-centric solutions helpful

Required Experience:

• 7+ years working or consulting directly on customer-facing project engagements
• 2+ years leveraging AWS GovCloud platform services in a hands-on capacity
12+ years of relevant IT experience
