Job Description:

The A&P Avionics Technician will support the Primary Mission Equipment (PME) maintenance activity ensuring compliance with OEM and FAA rules and regulations. As part of the PME section the A&P will fully support and contribute to all PME maintenance and required avionics and airframe activities. Selected candidate will work deployed OCONUS on a 60/60 rotation. Working conditions can range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, dust etc. Will be required to work in deployed areas supporting Defense activities where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock, limited housing, and other hazards and hardships exist.

Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for all PME related aircraft required maintenance activities
• Submit daily, weekly or monthly reports as required
• Track and perform scheduled and unscheduled PME related aircraft maintenance, repair and inspections
• Update maintenance tracking software/databases
• Perform ordering, shipping, receiving and issuing of material
• Perform troubleshooting, electronic measurements and diagnosis, and repairs of PME and avionics equipment
• Troubleshoot systems to provide an effective solution
• Maintain FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms
• Perform Daily/turnaround inspections
• Perform COMSEC electronic key control maintenance and equipment loads
• Perform corrosion related treatment
• Structural repairs and component in-house repair/back shop programs
• Perform required procedures, following engineering instructions, for system installations and modifications
• Interpret and understand engineering drawings for aircraft and wiring diagrams
• Work hours may be adjusted for operational requirements
• May be assigned to work at any of the SS-AISR OCONUS locations
• Prepare and conduct training on FAA, DOD, Army, and Local aviation related program tasks and directives for program personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and 5+ years of prior relevant experience in aircraft avionics
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years aircraft mechanic experience on King Air series aircraft
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have a Secret Clearance and able to obtain a Top Secret
• Current FAA A&P certificate required
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must have a current civilian driver's license
• Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, read and interpret electronics drawings and diagrams, and perform installations and repairs on PME and integrated avionics systems and components
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of using aircraft technical publications with the ability to read and interpret basic schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts
• Must be able to work shifts as assigned and travel as required to support program wide operations
• Must be in good physical condition, and capable of completing and passing a physical exam and CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) course prior to deployment OCONUS
• Must be able to work in the assigned work/living environment, work shift as assigned. This is a 60/60 rotational program: Work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements for 60 days, then 60 days off.
• Highly proficient using common or special hand tools and test equipment as required for aircraft and avionics maintenance
• Must have working knowledge of aircraft safety directives
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards during flight line operations
• Must have proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as maintenance database and tracking software
-Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
-Valid passport for at least 3 years.
-Must be able to meet CENTCOM CRC medical minimum standards
-Must be able to meet deployment training minimum standards

Preferred Qualifications
• Recent experience with MARSS, EMARSS integrated systems platforms
• Top Secret Clearance
• Proficiency and understanding of computer networks, radio frequency equipment, satellite communications, and full motion video systems
• Experience working OCONUS or in hardship environments
• Meet DoDD 8570 IAT Level II (Have a current certification in one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) and Certified in one Operating System/Environment such as Windows, Linux, etc.
