Job Description:

Leidos is searching for an Environmental Analyst to join our Department of Defense (DoD) National

Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) team in Newport News, VA. This position requires extensive

analytical work with a primary focus on the acoustic environment associated with aircraft operations,

munitions use, and ground vehicle noise. This employee will team with Leidos project managers in the

assessment, analysis, research, and writing related to pertinent federal, state, and local

environmental regulations. Candidates must be willing to travel regularly (up to 25% of the time) to

military installations and other locations within and outside of the United States.

Responsibilities include:
This position will primarily assist with collection of data and modeling needed by multiple technical

disciplines, preparation of the noise analysis and other sections of environmental assessments (EAs)

and environmental impact statements (EIS) under NEPA, as well as and other technical

environmental/planning documentation, for various DoD and non-DoD clients.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 2 plus years of experience with the use of aircraft noise

models and INM experience in preparation of NEPA documentation or a relevant Master's degree in a

related field such as environmental sciences with a focus on analytical work or environmental

engineering.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
• Detail-oriented self-starter with demonstrated writing ability and capability to generate high

quality products, strong math skills, and excellent personal communication skills.
• Previous experience with the preparation of documents requirement by the National Environmental

Policy Act (NEPA) and/or previous experience with noise modeling software would be a plus.
