Job Description:

Global Information Grid (GIG) Service Management-Operations (GSM-O), a Defense and Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Mid Windows System Administrator at Scott AFB, IL.

Leidos is seeking a candidate to fill a Mid Windows System Administrator position supporting DISA's GSM-O contract at Scott AFB, IL. The candidate will maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems running Windows Server OS but includes also includes Linux servers on a global network management system. Provides support on a M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations. Approximately 10% of the job will require domestic and international travel. All work is performed based on service level agreements (SLA) and customer defined Accepted Level of Performance (ALP). Candidate is required to support the development, documentation and tracking of measurements and metrics relevant to the ALP's

  • Work independently in a rapid paced environment to maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Duties include tuning systems performance, installation of system wide software, allocation of mass storage space and setting up administrator and service accounts.
  • Evaluates vendor products and interacts with end users.
  • Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Applies security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
  • Provides systems and application support on M-F business hour schedule, and will also be responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 2-4 years of overall related experience with a Windows server environment (e.g. 2008r2 and 2012r2). Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Managing Microsoft Active Directory (AD)
  • System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration.
  • System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools.
  • Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
  • Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining VMWare environments.
  • Providing Remote Desktop Services (Login and Security)
  • Using Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
  • Use of Windows Task Scheduler
  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and the ability to acquire a Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.
  • Currently possess current DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.

  • Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC Remedy.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certified
  • Linux OS experience.
  • Experience working with virtual environments.
