Job Summary;

Working in conjunction with other professional colleagues and specialists, the Risk Manager acts as an expert advisor to management concerning risks involving or affecting technology, particularly but not exclusively IT. Although technology and other risks are owned by individual managers throughout the organization, the RM owns and is responsible for the technology risk management policies, procedures and guidelines, and is expected to ensure that technology risks are appropriately measured and prioritized in the corporate risk register.

Primary Responsibilities;
• Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the Program when risks occur
• Performing a risk assessment: Analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the Program
• Performing a risk evaluation: Evaluating the Program's previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the Program such as costs and legal requirements
• Establishing the level of risk the Program is willing to take
• Preparing risk management and insurance budgets
• Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Educating the board of directors about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks)
• Explaining the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders
• Creating business continuity plans to limit risks
• Implementing health and safety measures, and purchasing insurance
• Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
• Maintaining records of insurance policies and claims
• Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals
• Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the Program

Basic Qualifications;
The following are relevant and desirable for this role:
• Technology risk management: at least 10 years work experience in the area of IT and technology risk, including at least 5 years at management level. Note: successful candidates are likely to have held rôles such as IT Risk Manager, Risk Manager, IT Manager, Information or IT Security Manager, IT Audit Manager, IT Incident Manager or Business Continuity Manager;
• Relevant technical qualifications such as MIRM, CRISC, CISM, CISA, CISSP etc.;
• Relevant business experience/qualifications/knowledge: technology risk must be managed in the context of various other risks, opportunities and challenges facing the organization

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
