Job Description:

The Leidos Innovations Center is seeking a talented Software Engineer Intern for our Ann Arbor, MI office for summer 2019 and potentially beyond.

The candidate will be assigned tasks that are relevant and necessary to the successful execution of Leidos contracts. Leidos will provide the candidate with real world experience as well as technical and career mentorship throughout the internship, which may result in full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Assist in using sound software engineering and object oriented principles to ensure that developed code is maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, secure and fault tolerant.

-Apply knowledge of secure software development principles and techniques.

-Support the software configuration management process and understand software components and their interface requirements.

-The ideal candidate would be a self-starter, resourceful and reliable as well as be able to bring new perspectives and ideas to the company, and proactively complete assigned activities on time.

- The internship provides the candidate with a valuable opportunity to work with a skilled team in a variety of engineering roles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

-The candidate must currently be pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering), have completed at least two years of an undergraduate curriculum, and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

-Experience with Object Oriented programming languages (C++, Java, etc.)

-Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Linux

-Must have the ability of obtaining a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance, U.S. Citizenship required

Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience creating solutions with MATLAB, Python, CUDA, and/or MySQL
  • Experience in signal processing, deep learning, computer vision, and/or remote sensing
  • Experience with agile software development process
  • Demonstrated success completing projects with small teams
