Job Summary

The Field Service Technician (Level-2) provides information technology services in support of intelligence missions and other functions. These services will include the installation, maintenance, logistics, replacement and repair of information systems. The supported hardware will include computers, servers, storage systems, networks, software, satellite modems and printers. Additionally, the Field Service Technician (Level-2) provides Tier I and basic Tier II support to customers with hardware, software, and application problems. He/she works through all types of Tier II issues with telephone assistance and is capable of running an entire remote site with demanding customers in austere locations. The C4I Field Technician performs hardware maintenance on and installations of IT equipment used within classified and unclassified local and wide area networks; applies remote services diagnostics; and installs and incorporates new releases, updates, or other changes to COTS hardware and software. He/she must be able to load cryptographic keys and perform basic troubleshooting on many types of hardware.

Primary Responsibilities

Junior to mid-level Systems Administrator part of the Leidos team to support ARIES contract which provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Army Military Intelligence Enterprise IT Systems. This position supports the JMICS/C-JWICS systems at JBLM Ft. Lewis, WA.

Assists the modification and/or enhancement the IT System in compliance with the organization's standards, business practices and appropriate DoD, Army, and IC guidelines.

Conducts scheduled backups of the organization's data in accordance with best business processes.

Responsible for satellite acquisition and maintaining of satellite antennas.

Configures and maintains satellite modems.

Employs IT network and systems performance monitoring and diagnostics tools to ensure compliance with System Availability requirements and efficient operation.

Executes business processes for the ordering, receipt, delivery, disposal and tracking of IT equipment and supplies.

Executes day-to-day operations and monitoring of the organization's IT Systems to ensure reliable, uninterrupted access and availability.

Insures the security of the systems and materials up to a US-only, top secret/sensitive-compartmented information (TS/SCI) level and performs technical encryption by installation, operation, configuration, synchronization, diagnostic testing and repair of sensitive, complex, US-only encryption devices consisting of KG-175Ds.

Executes the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) processes, to include IAVM acknowledgment, completion of corrective action, and final reporting. May configure and test IT Equipment to ensure it complies with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements.

Maintains integrity of the operating system; responds to service outages and other problems; develops operating scripts to support assigned tasks; conducts system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination; sets up and administers workstations and servers; provides disk space planning and management, and network storage administration; monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements; and maintains Firewall and Intrusion Detection Systems.

Maintains database management systems (DBMS) including database software installation and configuration; maintenance; problem analysis; and troubleshooting.

Performs scheduled maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended service intervals, alerts and bulletins, patches and updates, as well as other sources.

Provides preventive and remedial maintenance for the organization's IT System. Conducts systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects.

Provides visual and audio multimedia services, schedules VTC sessions, and manages the operation of the organization's VTC facilities and equipment.

Basic Qualifications

BS Degree with 2-4 years of related experience or High School diploma with 5+ years of related experience.

Currently possess DoD 8140/8570.1-M IAT/IAM Baseline Certification IAT Level II -

Must have Security+|CE, DoD 8570 Computing

DoD TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Experience maintaining Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, and Server 2012 R2 platforms.

Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008/2012.
