Job Description:

The candidate will work with a team of software and network engineering professionals on cutting edge applications. This position will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, documenting, and debugging database builds; testing applications in the development environment; supporting production Oracle environments with production deployments and providing post-production support.

The database engineer will:
  • Determine ways to organize and store data, identify user requirements, set-up Oracle databases, and test and coordinate modifications to the DBMS
  • Ensure performance of the system and understand the platform on which the database runs
  • Plan and coordinate security measures, ensure data integrity, and perform database backups and restores
  • Plan for transition of the development and/or production environment to Oracle 12c
  • Implement and maintain RDBMS hardening and encryption
  • Provide support for RDBMS integration with monitoring services
  • Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications

Required Qualifications

Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or related field
  • 15+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator/Database Developer
  • Demonstrated expertise with Oracle RAC and Oracle Enterprise Manager (Cloud Control)
  • Demonstrated expertise managing Oracle and MySQL databases on Linux and Windows platforms
  • Familiarity with Oracle 12c to include familiarity with Oracle Advanced Security and Oracle Label Security
  • Experience with Oracle database maintenance including monitoring and maintenance tasks in a Linux environment
  • Proficiency developing stored procedures and triggers
  • Hands-on experience designing and building Oracle database structures.
  • Hands on experience developing queries and performing performance tuning
