Leidos has an opportunity for a Cyberscurity Engineer to work in Bowie, MD. The Cybersecurity Engineer will work with a team for to design, develop, integrate and maintain secure networking, computing, and enclave environments. The candidate will apply existing knowledge of Information Assurance policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement these environments. The candidate will ensure implementation of security features for the detection of malicious code, viruses, and intruders (hackers), as appropriate. Ensure systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with applicable governing policies and procedures.
The candidate will perform, but is not limited to, the following duties: act as the information security subject matter expert regarding requirements to facilitate security accreditations of systems and the secure operations at multiple sites; assist in the development of system certification documentation; responsible for ensuring proper protection or corrective measures have been taken when an incident or vulnerability has been discovered; responsible for responding to security incidents and for investigating and reporting security violations and incidents. Additionally, the candidate will have experience in identifying, researching, characterizing, and documenting security weaknesses related to operating systems, software applications and firmware.
Education: B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline is preferred; relevant years of ISSO experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. DoD approved 8570 baseline certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)) is a firm requirement.
Required Skills: The candidate is responsible for implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures. 8+ years of hands on experience implementing security policy in a Linux Operating System (CentOS) and Windows Operating System environment is required. Responsible for reviewing certification and accreditation documentation, CONOPS, etc. Must have experience in computer forensic analysis and auditing procedures. A working knowledge of computer security certification and accreditation process is required. The candidate will have outstanding customer service skills and experience and work well in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely are also required.
