The LInC (Leidos Innovation Center) currently has an opening for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Software Engineer to work at our customer site on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Leidos is seeking a dedicated, talented and experienced AI Software Engineer to work as part of a leading-edge research and engineering, design and development team. The AI Software Engineer will contribute to the Warfighter Program supporting AFRL/RHA. The Warfighter program provides the Air Force with a wide range of research into advanced technologies to improve training effectiveness among a multitude of operationally-relevant platforms and roles.
You will work as an AI Software Engineer that will works as an integrated member of a high performing research and development team, focusing on development, validation, and demonstration of intelligent agent technologies and capabilities to support Mission Planning and Debrief (MP&D) for autonomous operations in contested environments. As a member of the MP&D team, you will research, develop, integrate, and validate intelligent agent behaviors for mission planning ingestion, responses to dynamic threats and contingencies, and mission debriefing capabilities.
Some of your specific tasks will include development and modifications to the MP&D research testbeds, development and demonstration of a modular, transferable, open system architecture, and development of the capability for the MP&D system to take in information about the mission plan (including mission contracts, contingencies, targets, frequencies, etc.) that will be necessary to react appropriately and autonomously to events and commands during mission execution. Other aspects of your position are development of mission debrief capabilities to enable the post-mission evaluation of actions and decisions for appropriateness, integration and demonstration of technology components and capabilities developed for MP&D as a unified system, and development of the necessary verification and validation of the intelligent agent behaviors, in addition to robust test and evaluation.
We are searching for an individual who has skills in content extraction from imagery, tables, and other graphics, and experience in symbolic knowledge representation and reasoning that can be implemented in the MP&D environment. We are also searching for an individual who is excited about and has knowledge in techniques for small data challenges in machine learning, given a small data constraint in the MP&D environment. Experience in general heuristics for plan generation is also desirable.
The successful candidate will work with government customers, software engineers, subject matter experts, and military personnel.
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- Have 5+ years' experience in applicable domains
- Be more than proficient in content extraction from graphics and machine learning with small data
- Be proficient with agent development and symbolic knowledge representation and reasoning
- Be a US Citizen. NO non-citizens will be considered.
- Be capable of obtaining a DOD Secret Security Clearance, at a minimum.
- Proficiency in Go (aka Golang), WebSockets, JSON, XML, UML2, and Windows
- General knowledge in general heuristics for plan generation
