Job Description:

Leidos is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a newly awarded program in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

The contract will provide life cycle support to operational software applications and databases directed toward the current operational needs of the Y Directorate of Capabilities. The Directorate of Capabilities is responsible for developing and providing all capabilities used across the enterprise, as well as capabilities and solutions provided to external organizations for intelligence and information assurance purposes. 

Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Engineer will provide engineering support for multiple applications and systems. The candidate provide application development and support to a tool that provides data to be conveyed at the absolute first point of relevance allowing mission analytic users to view existing data.

Provide software development and technical services. Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments. • Develop services for existing or proposed databases or data repositories • Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results • Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components • Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of software engineering experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Experience designing and implementing object oriented solutions in Java
Experience with Java, Subversion, Teamwork, User Interface Design, writing Software Requirements, Software Development Processes, and Software Debugging,
Experience in inteliJ, NetBean, or Eclipse development environments
Strong understanding of data structures and multi-threaded processing
Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
Familiarity navigating Linux using bash commands to configure administrative settings and evaluate system performance
Able to identify and anticipate needs of a user community, development staff, and integrated applications

Experience designing and implementing object oriented solutions in Java
Experience with Java, Subversion, Teamwork, User Interface Design, writing Software Requirements, Software Development Processes, and Software Debugging,
