Are you a C++ programming Software Engineer who likes supporting research and development projects developing innovative software solutions? Help us develop software applications to integrate systems and subsystems into a state of the art hardware in the loop test environment at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The Air Force Research Laboratory's Integrated Threat Warning Lab is involved in development and testing of some of the most advanced threat warning systems in the world... and we are looking for an experienced software engineer.
Our software engineers:
-Support ongoing research and development projects. This will include systems engineering and hardware integration of innovative solutions in support of DoD user communities.
-Develop innovative software solutions to integrate system/subsystems into a hardware in the loop test environment.
-Design, develop, analyze, document and support of testing of products, systems or subsystems.
-Complete software tasks independently while meeting customer's schedule and performance requirements.
-Develop project software requirements and designs.
To qualify for this job an applicant must:
-Bachelor's Degree in software, engineering, math or physics with at least 4 years of related software development experience.
-Experienced with C++ programming.
-Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse or Embarcadero IDEs.
-Experience in one or more of the following: Object-Oriented development, Linux shell scripting, Java, Windows, Python, C#, C, or assembly language.
-Must have an understanding of standalone and distributed system simulations.
-Experience with software development life-cycle product development from requirements specification through design, implementation, and testing phases.
These are highly desired:
-BS Degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent degree in math, physics, or engineering with software development experience.
-FPGA firmware development experience.
-Proficiency in MATLAB.
-Experience in building graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
-Familiarity with multi-threaded and IP socket programming techniques.
-Understanding of OOA/OOD Software Solutions.
