Job Description:

The Government Health and Safety Solutions Group of Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Baltimore, MD to support the SSA ITSSC 2 contract.

This is an exciting opportunity that will allow qualified candidates to utilize technical skills and experience in support the mission of the ITSSC 2 contract. In this mission Leidos support the Social Security Administration's Office of Software engineering, providing technical solutions to complex and highly visible IT Modernization challenges.

The Leidos team provides design, development, automation testing, and release management support to SSA, working in a high paced agile environment and supporting several product lines, including supporting programmatic processes for such areas as earnings, eligibility/entitlement, redeterminations, pay/computations and debt management/recovery.

As a senior java developer on the contract, responsibilities will include providing full lifecycle support of the agencies IT modernization initiatives. The position will require in-depth knowledge and experience of Java and related technologies, including strong knowledge of front-end development using technologies such as Angular 2.0 and above.

Will be considered a leader on the team and must have strong technical and leadership skills.

Required Education and Skills:

Masters degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience or Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience.

Front-end development skills: Angular 2.0, HTML/JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), YUI and/or JQuery

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of front-end development skills: Angular 2.0, HTML/JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), YUI and/or JQuery

- 2+ years of Server-side component design skills: Object-Oriented Design with Java EE 6 and up, Spring/SpringBoot, Jax-WS and JAX-RS Webservice development, Apache OpenJPA or similar, EJB 3.0, common frameworks such as Maven, JUnit, Log4J, Mockito.

-Experience with usability and Section 508 principles,

-SQL development for IBM DB2,

-WebSphere deployment.

- Git, BitBucket, Jenkins automation

Must demonstrate the experience and ability to work without technical oversight and to lead and/or supervise a team of specialists.

Must possess superior oral and written communication skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues and ideas to team members, management and customers

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of:

Agile development principles and methodology

Test Driven Development

Behavior Driven Development
