Leidos's Military & Veterans Solutions Health Group is currently seeking a full time Research Technician I to support research at the Navy Medical Research Unit - San Antonio.
a. Responsible for supporting laboratory based research applying the latest scientific knowledge hemorrhage and resuscitation, immunomodulation, directed energy bioeffects, bioassay development, craniofacial, and infectious diseases.
b. Implements and maintains research files.
c. Assists with preparation for presentations and written published articles.
d. Performs daily laboratory experiments.
e. Aids in obtaining peer-reviewed manuscripts and composing annotated bibliographies.
f. Assists the Government in ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies related to research under contract.
g. Performs daily data analysis and report such to PI and other research staff.
h. Provides additional functionality incidental to research activities.
i. Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
j. Compiles and may analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques.
k. Writes and edits material for Standard Operating Procedures; service shall not include inherently Governmental functions.
l. Reports on status of research activities.
m. Handle and restrain (daily) various small and large animal species.
n. Assists the Government in maintaining sterile equipment, pest control, and record keeping for contract personnel; services shall not include inherently Governmental functions.
o. Aids in conducting daily and weekly inspections or areas of contractor responsibility to ensure compliance with standards.
p. Aids the Government in coordinating animal procurement and shipping procedures; services shall not include inherently Governmental functions.
Education and experience requirements:
3 years experience in a related field, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree.
Must have or be able to obtain Secret U.S. Government Clearance to be hired.
