Job Description:

Leidos is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector / NDI Technician that will work and travel in between customer sites as needed. Customer sites include Kandahar, Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. The Quality Control Inspector / NDI Technician will ensure implementation of required process controls, maintain NDI equipment, order NDI related consumables, schedule calibration of NDI equipment, maintain currency for NDI processes (except x-ray) and maintain reference standards. The selected candidate will also establish and maintain the quality system, including International Organization Standard (ISO) requirements; perform quality system document control and internal audits to ensure that the quality system is complete and effective; perform aircraft, component, and shop inspections including NDI to assure compliance with specifications, technical instructions and related directives.

The Quality Control Inspector / NDI Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining technical quality assurance and control systems. The selected candidate will complete inspections required by the U.S. Government, the aircraft OEM maintenance manuals, and local established and/or modified maintenance procedures and processes. The candidate is responsible to support daily organizational maintenance in accordance with technical data and directives; render technical assistance and instruction to Afghan personnel in the assembly, operation, service repair and modification of the aircraft. May be tasked with implementation of quality related special projects, such as training or auditing. He/she may be required to conduct research or assist in investigational studies. He/she will implement design/development of new or modified equipment or methods/systems for improved performance. TI's evaluate and resolve calibration and troubleshooting problems. TI's ensure maintenance records and maintenance actions are completed and correct and that military maintenance records meet local directives. TI's may be tasked with additional responsibilities including support of quality related projects, such as training or auditing. This position may require travel or permanent relocation to other program areas in Afghanistan as the mission dictates.

This position is located in Afghanistan on a 90/30 rotation.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Technical or Military School Training accepted in lieu of degree & FAA license/certificate (or ICAO/EASA equivalent)
4 years of related experience required
Certified Level II NDI with 2 Years related experience in NDI
Very familiar with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel and Access
Must have MD530F experience

As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
US citizen
Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Aviation background experience
Understanding and accepting local languages, customs and traditions (to be able to work with local customs, transport systems and language interpretation)
Ability to work and live in a team environment
Military deployment experience is highly desired and deployment experience to the CENTCOM region is desired
