Targeting Officers are responsible for guiding and monitoring the execution of collection operations and integrating that collection into a cohesive intelligence narrative. That narrative, incorporating highly complex and specialized multi-INT information, must be communicated regularly to a wide audience of stakeholders, in written form and verbally in both formal and ad-hoc briefings. Throughout this process, Targeting Officers must be able to identify gaps in information and take pro-active steps to address those gaps.
Key skills for success include the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, often under stress. Targeting Officers must be able to think critically and communicate highly complex information accurately, clearly, and in the proper context of a larger effort.
