Job Description:
Systems Engineer/AFSS Open location/telecommute Leidos Aviation Flight Services provides meteorological and aeronautical information to assist general aviation customers in making informed decisions regarding their intended flights, including but not limited to preflight weather briefings, processing flight plans, search and rescue, as well as inflight meteorological and aeronautical information. FAA Contract supporting General Aviation customers in Preflight, Inflight, Operational, Emergency, and Special Services. The System Engineer will be supporting the AFSS Program as a technical subject matter expert. This position is for the product owner of an Agile software development feature team for the Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS) program.Responsibilities: • Assist with the systems engineering of the user interface framework, server side component framework, SOA interfaces, and or web service design. Support the design, development, and implementation of large, complex projects. • Product owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the feature team and for managing the product backlog by clearly expressing product backlog items; ordering the items in the product backlog to best achieve goals/missions; optimizing the value of the work the feature team performs; ensuring that the product backlog shows what the feature team will work on next; and ensuring the feature team understands items in the product backlog to the level needed. • Additionally the product owner is heavily involved in program backlog refinement for release and sprint planning and is the only team member with the responsibility to accept stories by validating that the story meets the defined acceptance criteria.LeadGenLeadGenEng
- Typically requires BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with
6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience supporting the system and/or software engineering discipline. - Excellent written/verbal skills with the ability to interpret and author well-formed documents. - Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance
