Energy Engineer This role will support the engineering team's projects for Hawaii Energy, administered by Leidos, under contract with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission. The desirable candidate has technical competencies, excellent communication skills and a passion, curiosity and drive to learn and provide technical assistance to improve mechanical, lighting, and other energy consuming systems. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager and/or Program Manager, the Energy Project Development Engineer will: • Develop and deliver presentations for Customer • Write technical summaries and briefs for both technical and non-technical audience • Conduct facility Energy Audits and Assessments • Perform Energy Modeling of Buildings • Develop energy savings calculations • Analyze billing and utility data (post project reviews, rates, weatherization, and anomalies) • Develop and review measurement and verification (M&V) plans, perform M&V activities and analyze data to determine savings and costs of projects • Review energy efficiency calculations and energy models • Deploy and retrieve data logging equipment in the field • Perform pre and post inspection site visits. • Review plans and project documents to perform quality control of surveys and installations • Perform site visits to conduct building energy audits to identify major energy consumption areas and optimize building operation, lighting, controls and HVAC equipment operation • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience • 5+ years experience in Energy Field (HVAC Contractor, Performance Contractor, Energy Engineering, etc.) • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification, a plus • Strong technical, quantitative and analytic capabilities including technical report writing and advanced spreadsheet analysis • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines • Demonstrated ability to, work independently as well as within cross functional team • Valid Driver's license required, Ability to travel up to 50% Desired Skills: • Physical ability to perform energy audits and field verification of pre and post installation of energy efficiency measures • Project financing and cost analysis • Energy auditing and field metering experience • Experience with a database management tool • Construction management, and/or building maintenance experience, Energy Modeling Software, Excel, Word

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
