The Leidos Corporation is seeking an Accountant, to come join our amazing Business Operations team working on the United States Antarctic Program's (USAP).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day, monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting of government owned accountable property, capital equipment and other sensitive property items
  • Determining Construction in Progress (CIP) value and working with other departments to get status on the projects captured in CIP and providing quarterly report to customer
  • Accurately update and maintain the master property database with the inventory data and archive and appropriately notate changes per contract requirements
  • Responsible for researching regulations and best practices in Property Administration
  • Assisting in property audits, conducting property training, ensuring the process is completed within contract requirements
  • Providing guidance and best practices for assets/property for the program
  • Reviews financials for miscoding's and inconsistencies related to property
  • Prepare bank reconciliation of cash accounts for remote locations
  • Completes monthly journal entries and reconciliations as needed for the team
  • Previous experience with depreciation of capital and real property

Required Qualifications:
  • Requires a four-year degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience, and two years' experience in capital and real property accounting
  • Previous experience with depreciation of capital and real property
  • Advanced user-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented, independent worker, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Driven by deadlines
  • Proven analytical problem-solver who enjoys collaboration and teamwork
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction at all experience levels
