The Security and Transportation Technology Group currently has an opening for a summer Physics Intern.
JOB DESCRIPTION: This intern will assist senior scientists in the development of contraband detection algorithms and software for CT based airport baggage scanners. Tasks will involve organizing, running, and reporting on test runs of trial algorithms against existing bag scan data. In addition, prototype implementation and optimization of new CT reconstruction techniques will be developed and evaluated versus the existing approach.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Candidate shall have completed at least freshman year, but not beyond junior year, in engineering, physics, or a related discipline at an accredited university and currently be enrolled in a degree program. Experience with Matlab programming is desirable.
