The acoustics group in the Maritime Systems Division at Leidos has an opening for a Computer Science and Physics Intern to work in our Arlington, VA (Ballston) office.
This intern will support a Leidos IR&D in the area of acoustics, with possible work in machine learning.
Implement Python and/or matlab code to conduct machine learning on acoustic datasets. Support at-sea testing and analysis of recorded acoustic datasets.
Currently pursuing an undergraduate education in computer science, math, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer engineering, with at least 2+ years completed. Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement. Most importantly, an entrepreneurial, motivated, self-starter attitude is required. Software development or integration skills using Linux are a requirement for this position. Exposure to one or more of the following is highly desired: acoustic propagation modeling, machine learning, signal processing, underwater vehicles, or acoustic communication. Must be a ble to obtain a secret level clearance- US Citizenship required.
Completion of a project or course in machine learning.
