Job Description:

Leidos Europe, part of Team Leidos, are looking for a Subcontracts Manager to join the Commercial Legal team within Team Leidos.

The role holder manages subcontracts and associated subcontractors in relation to the LCST programme.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Expert in managing subcontractor relationship management
  • Provides commercial, contractual and technical interpretation on all subcontract terms and conditions and schedules
  • Primary focal point for contractual interactions with the subcontractors
  • Manage and negotiate any flow down of terms/contract amendments
  • Collation and preparation of all NDAs for subcontractor personnel
  • Control and administration of sub-leases with subcontractor
  • Preparation of contract change proposals with Head of Commercial - Logistics where required
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Subcontractor Management teams
  • Must be a hands-on team player, able to effectively collaborate across functional areas including logistics, IT, finance, legal, HR and trade compliance
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communications and problem resolution skills with a collaborative, win-win approach
  • Must be a working manager, taking an active role in the performance of the contract and proactively working to identify risks, issues and opportunities and develop and implement strategies to mitigate the risks, resolve the issues and capitalize on the opportunities, and will be willing to cross functional lines to provide support to the programme leadership team when and where needed
  • Strong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial status
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively, both internally, with technical staff, peers, and management as well as externally, with customers, regulators and others
  • Liaison with other Leidos operating units and corporate departments where applicable
  • Keeps appraised of matters affecting contract requirements


Key Result Areas:
  • Manage and administer subcontractor terms and conditions and supporting schedules
  • Reviews and approves all contractual documents for protection of company's contractual position, satisfaction of government specifications and requirements, and adherence to company policy
  • Ensure subcontractor terms comply with all prime contract terms and conditions and supporting schedules
  • Preparation of contract change proposals where required
  • Collation and preparation of subcontractor NDAs
  • Strong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial status


Minimum Qualification/Education Level:

Required: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, Diploma in Procurement & Supply. 6+ years of experience in Subcontract Management, including experience managing large programmes/contracts employing complex business models. Competent in formal contracting contract management and supplier negotiations.

Preferred: Master's degree in business or a related field or (CIPS) Diploma in Procurement & Supply, experience managing and negotiating contracts with UK Government or Ministry of Defence.
